# tco-blog
Tco-blog is the web application which drives my weblog, and the source code is available via this page.
The last thing the world needs is another blog app, you say, and you're probably right. I have no real ambitions for this project. In fact, there are so many good Java-based blog apps out there, that if you're just looking for something to drive your own blog, I'd encourage you to try one of those, rather. If you want to use tco-blog, at the very least you'll need to compile it yourself, and probably have to look over some of the code to figure out how to use parts of it.
Having said that, tco-blog is small, simple (mostly), clean(ish), and works for me. You might find it useful or even just interesting to look at, and if the code helps you in any way, I'll be well pleased.

It is mainly a symbolic gesture, but the app is released under the GNU GPL.
Feedback
It's here, with no real expectations of an audience, but maybe you find it useful. Perhaps you think it sucks. Either way, feedback or constructive criticism is always welcome and appreciated. If you'd like to suggest a code change, or better yet, give me a patch, then all the better!
Downloading and installing
Tco-blog comprises two web applications (a read-only 'front-end' that the world sees, and an admin tool which only the blog owner sees). There are also a bunch of utility libraries which I use for all my personal projects, and you might find those interesting in their own right.
The apps need Java 5, a Web Container that supports J2EE 1.4 (I use Tomcat, but any should do), and MySQL. The file below contains a number of Eclipse projects, but the web app projects have Ant build scripts, so if you don't have Eclipse, but do have Apache Ant on your machine, you can still build the .war files. There's a smattering of documentation in the blog-doc folder, which should explain how it all hangs together and how to get it deployed.
