The haves and the have nots

The government has upped the minimum wage:

The minimum wage has gone up, with the main rate for adults aged 21 or over rising by 15p to £6.08 an hour.

The main rate for adults whose skills or productivity cannot justify £6.08 an hour remains firmly set and strictly enforced at £0 an hour.
