Government waste

Labour are getting righteous about finding ways to cut government waste and if the Tories really believe in transparency and the power of the people, then I have a simple suggestion. They should compile a list of job titles across all government departments and quangos, along with the number of people employed under each job title and the average salary paid to them.

Then put the lists on a website and let the people decide. I humbly suggest that the electorate will find savings to make the 'cost' of the Tories' National Insurance cut-backs look like pocket change. I'm also pretty sure that very few teachers, firemen or policemen will have to fear for their jobs. We might even end up with more of them.
