# Lynch mob
Yet another amateur video of Saddam Hussein, post-hanging, has surfaced. More fuel to the fire. Politicians not quite sure what to say or how strongly to say it.
The problem with executing people, is that you can't unexecute them. Politicians can demand and hold enquiries until they're blue in the face, it won't change a thing. So the whole affair is, and will forever be, symbolic of the Iraq debacle: an ill-conceived, misguided, mishandled, amateurish and thuggish mess that lays bare the arrogance, ignorance and incompetence of those who started it. The greatest tragedy, ignoring the wholesale slaughter of Iraqis, is that Saddam Hussein's crimes will be seen by many in the Middle East and elsewhere as insignificant in comparison to the crimes perpetrated by the Occupiers. Saddam will have won, because he will have been proven right.
Saddam Hussein certainly didn't deserve to be a martyr, but he sure is one now. How could that have been allowed to happen?
